Truthfully, most of it is tired. Like you, I've been trying for years to write sword & sorcery in a different way ... sort of the same way your previous commenter described except I went first person with it. It's tough, but doable. I think that after 15 years of wrestling with my writing, I'm to the point where I'm going with your advice of writing for yourself and hope for an audience. I've known this to be true, but never pursued it. This is a good web log. I dig it.<br /><br />~ WillAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5383715984255450257.post-88893464675168595382010-11-08T15:52:07.328-05:002010-11-08T15:52:07.328-05:00Hah! One day he climbed up on a tree and had Loki nail him to it."<br /><br />For 300 pages. The Grey Elfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14696474020129732936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5383715984255450257.post-19596287274813861052010-11-08T15:43:02.969-05:002010-11-08T15:43:02.969-05:00If you really wanted to break the mold of heroic f...If you really wanted to break the mold of heroic fantasy, then prohibit yourself from including any quests, mentors or prophecies. I have been unable to do so in my own writing, but what the hell. :-)Bill Coffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05044878612522029439noreply@blogger.com
